Commissioning Artwork
The process of commissioning a ketubah or other celebratory artwork is collaborative.
First, we discuss your text: I help you find, modify or write your own. Next you review my artwork (shown in the gallery here plus many additional pieces I will share with you) and we agree on overall design, style, colors and motifs in the illumination.
Next I send you (by email) several sketches for the illumination and we hone in on the elements you like best. I send a final design with a few possible color options.
Once we finalize everything I get to work producing your piece (I ask for a 50% deposit at this point).
For ketubot I like to start at least 3 months ahead of the wedding (or anniversary) date. Smaller pieces (e.g. birth announcements, birthdays) require about 6 weeks.
